People will stare. Make it worth their while.
– Harry Winston –
Sometimes I’m awkward. Sometimes, I can’t quite find the right words to say. Sometimes, I am just plain ol’ making a fool of myself. I line dance in uncanny places, snort when I laugh (sometimes), make super weird nosies (I can sound like a dolphin/alien from “Signs”), and am not really the most coordinated or directionally astute human being.
But, I don’t care. I’m having fun, dancing through life, and this is who I am. I will be downright ridiculous, overly enthusiastic, and emotionally sensitive… often. I will be me, right out in the open, though there are hidden corners of my being that you may not see when we first meet. My soul is somewhat secretive, but accessible. It’s deep and lush, like the forest my adventure buddy and I found swallowing this secret ghost town in Washington…
Through my wanderings in Washington and new friends, I’ve realized I’m completely comfortable with who I am. I haven’t felt like I need to mask myself here. Perhaps it’s partially due to the laid-back, accepting disposition of most people in this state thus far. At least in Olympia, it seems that almost anything goes, and I’m pretty grateful I can be my true self without worrying about others. Though I have not revealed my full self to everyone I have met, I have been authentic and true to who I am. I am living in fear of being judged. I am who I am, and thus far I have been welcomed by some beautiful people.
These beautiful people have shown me mysterious places. Here’s one of them… but I won’t tell you where it is, you’ll have to ask in the comments, mwahaha. It wouldn’t be a secret ghost town if I told you exactly where it was, would it?
Be who you are and say what you feel
because those who mind don’t matter and those who matter don’t mind.
