Happy Halloween, friends!! October is one of my favorite times of the year (pretty even with Christmas time) and I love embracing the spooooooky. Here are some self care practices to get in alignment with the elements and yourself.
Today is a waning crescent moon, which is a perfect time for resting and resetting before the new moon where we can set new intentions. It’s also a perfect day for getting scared and looking at the things that scare us in life. Facing them with courage, as we reflect on this last phase.
I’ll be doing tarot card readings, journaling, and watching Haunting of Bly Manor most of today. How will you be celebrating Halloween and offering yourself some nurturing? Let me know below!
Moon Rituals

Follow the cycle of the moon by celebrating another cycle, reflecting, resting, and slowing down. Every phase of the moon carries a different energy. As we move towards darkness, the waning crescent offers us time to really slow down and reflect.
Sacred Rituals

Mmm, tarot and oracle cards are a beautiful, intuitive way to connect to ourselves and the energy of the universe. I personally love Wild Unknown Tarot (buy from my fav local bookstore in Brookline, MA at the link!). Smudging by burning sage is a great way to clear energy in your space. This is a beautiful practice, watching the sage burn and cleansing doorways, crystals, or your own energy. I usually purchase sage from a local bookstore or crystal shop, but my favorite is Wolf Spirit Sage. You can also purchase a clearing package from my favorite crystal/sage shop in New York here (includes Large Sage Wand, Palo Santo, and Sierra Cedar).
Connect and Reflect

Any phase of the moon is a perfect time to reflect, but the waning crescent is the end of a moon cycle and a really powerful time. I also love picking up a Stephen King novel (currently reading his less spooky book, On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft) or Harry Potter during Halloween.
Yoga

Yoga for When You Are Feeling Scared | Yoga With Adriene
Yoga For When You Feel Dead Inside | Yoga With Adriene
Yoga is one of my favorite self care practices and the fact that Yoga With Adriene makes Halloween-themed yoga videos makes it even better. She just uploaded a new one this week!
Meditation

Live Tapping on Fear of Change | Brad Yates
There’s no wrong way to meditate, really. Sit under the moon. Hold your favorite crystal to connect to cleansing, grounding energy. Or, tap away the things that make you feel scared. Tap with Brad knows how to hit it home with topics that need clearing. As we enter the new moon, tap away fear of change with his live session.
Trust your intuition

Trust your intuition to tell you what you need most today and every day. Find gentle movement, soak in the sun, go to a haunted house, snuggle under a blanket, draw a bubble bath. Find what feels good today and always, my friends. You deserve it.
